My download of system shock 2 is going extremely slow (30kbts) and all of the sudden it was right at the 300mb/356 and now it's slowly going up and down between 290mb and 300mb. The installer on my folder is acting normal though.
nvm, I think it's stuck now

Windows 7 64bit
3.4.8.0 (stable)

It looks like a temporary server side issue. Did it download successfully? If you are having a problem with it still, please post (or upload to any paste-bin like service) a contents of your log file.

JMich: So, Lucius has updated files, and I queued everything up (as usual) to download to an empty folder. Since Lucius is a multilingual game with only one installer, all 5 language installers are the same files, same with the universal update.
Queue everything, download english versions, move on to the next. The installer (German) verifies it's already there, and is marked as completed. The universal update (German) downloads from scratch. Same thing for the rest of the languages as well.

May I suggest a "Identical file" flag, so downloading one language file would also mark the other languages as downloaded?
Thanks for the heads up. It's a bug in our API.

Szulak, my downloads get stuck at about the 75% level, and the log repeats the following report ad infinitum:

Heroes of Might and Magic V is doing that to me
Could you guys post a log file please? I am out of office atm, but I guess, it's any server side issue. Does the problem occur with another games?

If you mean the "stuck at 75%", it happened with Runaway 3 as well. I think the error is
Inner exception:
Message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Stack trace: at GOGCompanionApp.ApplicationState.Serialize() in C:\GOG Downloader\Stable\GOG Downloader\ApplicationState.cs:line 116
Inner exception:
, but since the log file is currently huge (and I did grab the files without the downloader), I'm not really sure.
Willing to clear it and grab them again if needed though.
Keeps getting most of the way through, then slows to a crawl. I get (Not Responding) appended to the title bar on most or all things open, even if that's only GOG Downloader. Windows Task Manager shows the memory as a sawtooth pattern, ramping up to nearly 100%, then dropping to around 50%, then repeating. CPU Monitor shows high usage (generally 80%+, often 95%+)

Happens only on the larger files, where I'm pretty sure I don't have enough RAM to keep the file resident. Is it patching in on the fly now, or are the temporary (10MB) files stashed somewhere else?

I still have 100GB or so free on the drive, but my internet laptop has just 3GB RAM, only around 1.8 (or less) free.

Download and install downloader, then on the game list page, make sure "Downloader mode" is set to On. It should then download with the downloader and not through the browser.

I think this is caused by the RAM, why do you have just 3GB of RAM and not 2*2=4 GB?
Makes more sense generally (for 64bit operating system)

What do you mean that it is "patching on the fly"? Thought this is the first time you download the game?
How are your settings for the virtual RAM file?
Is this maybe also caused by your network card or router or just your PC?
It's not because of your RAM. The GOG Downloader doesn't keep files (chunks) in the memory, as soon as they are downloaded, they are wrote on hard disk. Anyway, please post your full log file (or better, upload it to paste-bin like service).

I have also tried other verions of the downloader and the same thing happens. I have had working versions of the downloader before. I believe some of the versions that fail now may have been working before.

There are some small issues in the log file you posted. Anyway, I will take a look on them as soon as I will be in office (here are Easters). You can remove everything from the folder with log file, reinstall the GOG Downloader and try to download games again.

Is it a full contents of your log file? Try to run the GOG Downloader as administrator. Have you got any AV which might block the GOG Downloader?
