If translations for texts and voices are easy to find, French videos are quite a bit harder to find.

I've now compiled in a single download everything you need to fully translate your game to French: texts, voices and videos.

Open the magnet link corresponding to your game version in a torrent client to download.
When downloading is done, copy everything from the downloaded folder to your SMAC installation folder.

You should always choose the higher version, but the lower ones might be better seeded.

for GNU/Linux users (Loki version):

Mac OS version is ALIVE!!

It's intended for the real Mac OS version (from CD), not the GOG.com one.
The GOG.com version is (as far as I know) built from the Windows version + a wrapper, if you use this one the Windows version of the archive is the one you need.

I can't stress this enough: I need feedback, and it is especially true for the Mac OS version as I've no Mac here to test it myself.

Depending on the time you try to download it, you might not get any upload from me if there's already some people downloading some other of my archives. (at best I can upload at reasonable speed to two people at a time)
If that is the case, just let your torrent client run for a dozen minutes and it should start.

The only way to have a better upload rate is for peers to keep seeding after download.

I only managed to download the voice file, but so far it works great!! Thank you very much vv221 for the hard work, be sure that I appreciate it very much!!
It's not that I don't speak or understand english, but I just think that SMAC is one of the most brilliantly translated game that I have ever played, and it just doesn't feel the same when I play it in english!!

Thanks again, I just hope that I will manage to get my hand on the video files at some point! The most frustrating think thing is that I have an old SMAC CD but as I have absolutely no notion in programming whatsoever and I don't know how to transpose it to my GOG file..

My Internet connection is down since a couple of days, which could explain why you can retrieve the full translation archive via torrent protocol.
It should go back to normal next week.

If you have the CD, look for files with the .wve extension. These are the ones you should put in the "movies" folder of your installed SMAC, overwriting those already in place.
I just hope these files are easily found on the CD and not hidden in some kind of archive…

If you can’t find the .wve files, jut post here the list of files found on the CD and I will help you to track them down ;)

Connection back up, the full archive via bittorrent should be available again.
