emulation is not an option, because my cpu is too weak. i tried it earlier and i had terrible frame rate. i have to use a windows native executable. the included one fails to run in windows 8.1. i used a source port earlier but, i have no idea where i put it. i have 2 different disc versions available and the gog version(though that would force me to install gog galaxy) and the steam version.

Are you referring to DOSBox? Are you sure you can't speed it up?

You are probably referring to OpenC1, but you might be also interested in the Unofficial Max Pack 95 Restoration Project Pack.

Games bought on GOG can be downloaded as offline installers that don't contain Galaxy. Read here.

except for carmageddon. its offline installer never creates a working game. the installation installed through the offline installer is only around 200 megabytes while the one installed through galaxy is maybe 3 times as large. dosbox no longer works. no matter what i type in it says no such file or directory. i could try the links you provided however. openc1 is broken, it just directly crashes. the other one does not work with my disc version.
