Not a question, really. As much as I love this game, I had largely forgotten the handful of absurd flaws, most of which relate to combat mechanics.

Trying to get a group of your creatures to walk through a 1x1 bottleneck to attack something is worse than herding cats. They get bunched up and stuck in the middle and then start moonwalking backwards out of it in slow motion. Watching the fearsome Horned Reaper do this is particularly pathetic, especially when he's draining like 8000 mana per second and it takes him like 15 seconds to disentangle himself from the clusterfork and walk like 3 steps forward.

I hear that DK1 is the more accomplished product in terms of gameplay. I really will have to check it out someday.
I've always just picked my creatures up and flung them in to battles, rather than waiting for them to walk all the way there. DK1 this works well, in DK2 you have to remember that they get stunned for a bit and drop them a wee way from the fighting.

yeah but they can't attack enemy-claimed territory this way. You have to drop them on your territory and throw a call-to-arms at your point of attack.

I've been using "tremor" and just having my imps knock down the whole wall before attacking because otherwise i'll have like one skeleton run into battle by himself while my other 20 creatures play Twister in the passageway
