I've been struggling with this problem for years: how do you convert the video files in Dungeon Keeper 2 from original TGQ to AVI, MP4, MOV, etc.? I know no video converter software that supports TGQ video format. You're so weird, EA/Bullfrog.

I found this website (http://keeper.lubiki.pl/html/dk2_tools_other.php) that provides 2 video players to play them but that's about it. They don't really work too well either.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

To be honest, after reading the whole post, the more as I know is about video converter. How to use DRM removal software to convert iTunes videos from M4V to MP4. If you have purchased movies/TV shows from iTunes store, you may know all iTunes videos are combined with fairplay DRM protection, it can be played on Apple devices only. If you really want to enjoy these videos on Android phone, Google Play, Chromecast, etc. You may have to use a DRM removal progra-DRM Media Converter to help you remove DRM protection and convert videos from M4V to MP4 and multiple formats at 30x faster speed with all audio tracks, subtitles including AC3, 5.1 Dolby surround audio, cc, etc. with lossless quality. Now you can check more info at Tuneskit Official site. Hope this tip is useful to you.
There are various free online and video converters that can read, play and convert the videos (And other game video formats), rad video tools, cucusoft video converter, no1 video converter, freestudio etc, it is a matter of just trying them and see if they support the file.

However, that being said, even when you convert them the originals were stretched and scaled to fit in game, the best way to do this would be to use a screen and audio capture software (again there are plenty free on the web), such as camtasia studio, wincopy etc. run dungeon keeper (or any game you want to record the video of) in a window that is slightly smaller than your screen size for best quality.

Record the "selected area" on screen or "active window".

The only drawback of this method is, you have to sit and watch the whole video of everything you want to convert that takes a little longer.
When it comes to converting TGQ video files, you can have a try of DRmare M4V Converter for Mac/Windows that can nt only convert protected but also unprotected audio file, like TGQ video files to other video formats, like MP4, WAV, MKV and general audio files, like MP3, FLAC, WAV, etc.
It can also edit videos files and keep 100% original video files at 30X faster speed. Just have a try to see whether it can meet your needs.

The first thing I would try to rename file formats to better known ones and use various converters, most likely the developers used common file formats, they just named them in their own way.
