Hey guys,

So I've had a handful of tries at this level, "Smash" Woodsong... the one were you need to blitz past two hero camps to take out the keeper on the other side of the map.

I've been really on point the last several tries and have raised a good army I just find that once I prepare to breach the other dungeon the heroes are released ahead of schedule... usually I have around 5 minutes before they attack but they always strike ahead of time once I claim the centre of the map and start to move upwards. Any advice from those of you that have beat the level?

If I remember correctly, the timer made very little difference (I found out the hard way). Basically don't breach the dungeon until the heroes are dead.

To get them to attack in a way you can win is to attack and destroy one of the camps doors and then pick up the creatures and move them a safe way back. Keep the fighting in the middle and you should win.

I think it took me a few tries.

A hint would be to attack the other keeper from the left hand side.

Anyway hope this helps.
It's been a while since I played it, but I think the easy answer is to attack the heroes. Convert them, and than just do the norm. I didn't have a problem on this level, and I usually do on hard things, so I think you've missed an easy route.
Thanks guys, I tried again and was able to beat it by micro-managing my minions in the middle of the map. I think what was happening was they were smashing down the doors to the hero camps without me realizing so they triggered the enemies to come rushing out. I was able to breach on the left of the keeper dungeon and take out the heart that way.
Since the heroes attack even if the timer doesn't finish counting down I found that it's much easier to use them to your advantage rather than trying to blitz through the enemy dungeon while running from them.
What I did was I placed a ton of cannons and spike traps throughout the entrance to my dungeon, creating several strategic choke-points, using this method I managed to wipe out most of the attacking heroes before having to get my creatures involved. By the time I had finished mopping up my attackers I found the battered heroes fighting off what was left of the enemy keepers defenders inside his dungeon heart, I quickly mobilized my creatures and exterminated both parties with very little resistance.
The trick with this level is for your troops to never actually walk across the centre where all the heroes are stationed.

Once you claim the second portal that leads out to the hero area, construct a braced door and lock yourself in. In that portal room outfit it with what ever manner of traps you see fit to defend against the masses of heroes who will attempt to invade your dungeon when the timer gets below 10 minutes.

In the mean time while using wooden bridges and picking up and dropping imps carefully, claim your way across and claim the bridge shown in the attached screenshot.

Once you have the bridge start dropping imps and start digging out the area next to Azmodeous' dungeon (Picking up the secret level box as you go). Once you have your area carved out call to arms, drop your creatures there and breach his dungeon and claim your victory.

Hope this helps.

i played this yesturday, and did something different for once. one my cratures are at the level i want and i have stupid amounts of imps, i used bridge to go up the centre of the map. my imp took control of the middle bridge, and i deleted all but one square of bridge, then bridges up tp the top. i dropped an imp in (as the door to my dungeon is locked) and dropped a group of mistresses in at the top of the map. i used tremmor, posession and woila! map completed! :)
The game's "suggested" method of taking on this level is actually the most difficult approach. Trying to rush past the heroes and take on the enemy keeper in a glorious blitzkrieg is certainly possible, but it's something to try on your second playthrough of the game. First time through, I'd recommend using a "slow-and-steady" approach.

There are two approaches to this level other than the smash-and-grab. The most practical is to wipe out the heroes first, then deal with the enemy keeper. Whittling them down with a possessed Mistress can be quite effective. Try to lure them out into the open (so they can't benefit from their heavily-trapped interior areas) and wipe them out. The other option is to take advantage of the fact that you have a single hard choke point. Line up a battery of sentry traps with barricades and spike traps in front, and just wait for the heroes to come to you. After the fight, throw them in your torture chamber to convert them, then send the massive army right back against the enemy keeper.
