Hey Guys,

I could not find a solution to this, so this is why I ask.

The frameskip option is just not working for me. I tried many things: changing the "frameskip" in the config data to different values, creating a new keyboard layout with autohotkey so that I have a Numpad + and Numpad - on my Laptop without a Numpad, but it just does not do anything in the FX version to skip frames.

Again, it's not about the cycles, I changed that to "max" and it is running just fine. Just can't speed up the game which is really annoying.

Did anybody solve this for a Laptop keyboard without numpad and can help me what to do?

You can't really.

If you really want to, you can attack a proper keyboard to your laptop, or buy a proper laptop with a full size keyboard.

Alternatively, there's been some development on KeeperFX Unofficial, and one of the new features is frameskip for laptops. You can use it with 'Ctrl' and '='. You'd have to use an alpha version though, and there's still some issues there. You can download an alpha here. Need to install it over a full KeeperFX Unofficial version.
Thats sad, but thatnk you. I tried to install the alpha patch, but besides of some interface bugs it did nothing and i still cant speed up.

Well, might get a real keyboard, because without frameskip it's really annoying.

EDIT: There is also in your link the code to the frameskip which has to be added in the file in the SRC folder, but I dont know where this is stored. Can't find the path.

In that case you probably did not install the software properly, because it should work and there should be no interface bugs.

1) Install KeeperFX Unofficial, found here: https://keeperklan.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=121. Make sure it runs. In the log file it should say you're at build 1850.

2) Patch it with the alpha file found here: https://keeperfx-loobinex.keeperklan.com/alphabuilds/
Running it now should have your log file say you're at build 1896. After that you should be able to run the game and use frameskip by pressing Ctrl and the = key at the same time.
THanks a lot! The Frameskip is working now, great.

Problem is just that creatures dont torture themselves anymore. I will browse and look for a solution. Or do you might have one?

EDIT: Rooms in general are not working: cannot be claimed, can't be used, cant be build and are not available in the builds menu.

They never did. Just dark mistresses do, and they will randomly choose between the training room and the torture room. They should still do so.

If not, please share a saved game of where they don't do that, and I'll look into it.
Well, it seems like no creature, as I edited, interacts with any room, the building menu is always completly empty and rooms cannot be claimed by imps, as if they "dont existed". I dont think a savegame would help you, bacause the rooms would just work on your correct installation.

I removed the patch alpha 1896, then the rooms work again properly, but frameskip is gone.
In that case a log file, generated from your version 1896 would perhaps help me identify your problem.
Did you make sure to extract the entire archives, and not just partially install it, by for example taking just the exe-file?

And did you try a fresh level, or did you continue a map from an old save?

Thank you so much for your help Loobinex!
Good. You're welcome.
