I forgot to transfer over a creature from the prior level so I don't get that on Nevergrim. And no matter what I do, I cannot keep up with the enemy's production and I always get overwhelmed in battle. I have tried:

* Spamming imps and mining gold as fast as possible
* Getting a quick bridge research and exploring east and west as quickly as possible
* Building a huge hatchery to attract bile demons
* Selling the scavenger room
* Once the AI builds a bridge to me, possessing a hellhound and harassing the enemy imps so he can't complete a path to me
* Before that happens, building a bridge to the central gold isle
* Training every dragon and bile demon that I get

Nothing. Is. Working. I cannot keep up with the enemy's production and I can never win the battles. Help!

Looking here, go for dragons, bile demons, and a training room. Surround the training room with guard post tiles to increase its efficiency, and focus on training dragons and bile demons.

Have you used a possessed dragon in combat? I've found they are more efficient killers when you take an active hand and keep the fire breath damage going (left click and hold once you've "locked on" your target). Your target should be flinching and turning red if you're landing the damage. Make sure to drop several more creatures into the fight before you possess a dragon so you aren't fighting alone. Also make sure to use its heal ability to keep the hp high.

Get the two specials and the neutral creatures quickly as well.
If you found both Locate Hidden World specials so far, then go to the second one (kill all the imps). Beat it (grab 8 imps, keep slapping them into lava until they die, repeat), and you can transfer a vampire.
You can indeed transfer a creature from a secret level, that helps. No need to actually slap imps on the imp-slapping levels. On the one there's a tunnel with boulder traps and an enemy hound at the east. On the other one you have access to the cave-in spell and can throw in all the imps in a locked room before casting the spell to win in seconds.

The keeper on this level has no real advantage over you, so if you play well there's no reason for him to be stronger than you.

That being said, he's pretty good here so take the advantages you can get. I'll give you some hints:

1) Break out of the initial room, and immediately build a lot of imps so they claim a lot.
2) Build several 3x3 treasure rooms close to gold. At least 3 so you start attracting dragons, and imps don't have to walk too much to mine gold.
3) Quickly build 25 lair and 25 hatchery for bile demons. Also 36 training up against the wall for maximum efficiency and training speed. Make sure these rooms are close together.
4) As soon as you have the training room, possess an imp or hound and in possession claim the neutral dragons on the map.
5) Research only with lvl4 warlocks. Or with insects and other useless creatures you plan to throw away.
6) As soon as you've got the bridge, in possession rush towards the increase level specials so you can use them when you are attacked.
7) If you feel you are attacked by blue before you are ready, you can build a bridge towards their bridge and cast invisibility on one or two imps to claim and sell their bridge.
8) While training your dragons and bile demons, occasionally slap them and/or cast speed on them to make them train a lot faster.
9) When attacked, don't fight back with lvl1 dragons, train them to lvl2 at least. Also, casting speed on your high level dragons and bile demons makes a big difference in the fight.

EDIT: I forgot a very important tip: Get and use the speed spell. It's researched right after the bridge, cast it on your units when training to make them train faster. But most of all, cast it on your units when they fight. Because when blue uses it on his creatures and you don't on yours, his units will be twice as powerful.

After hours of trying, I finally beat it! It wasn't an optimal approach but I was able to make it work. My strategy went like this:

-Break out of the dungeon heart to the east. Spam as many imps at the start as I could afford.
-Rapidly start mining gold to the north as soon as possible. I needed a lot of gold quickly for the next steps. I found that collecting the imps using the creature menu helped.
-Get a lair and a hatchery. Both need at least 25 tiles to attract bile demons, which is what you want more than anything. I think it might even be better to go hatch first to get the chickens to start spawning.
-Continue mining and get a 4x4 library with room to expand. It didn't have to be more than 6x6 even late game.
-Get a training room. The bile demons and dragons need to train.
-No workshop, ever.

By this point both I and the enemy were ready to build bridges. I bridged east first because it only takes one tile, west a little later. Now this is where I took several tries to get it right.

Keep a close eye on the map. Once my creatures and my enemy's come into contact, the battle is on. The time I won, I got lucky and the hellhounds distracted the enemy on the east side, but I had to be careful because they could run into the enemy base and get overwhelmed.

Once the enemy invades your base, I brought in every bile demon, dragon that I had, and maybe warlocks too. Micro the battle--losing bile demons or even dragons can be GG. I pulled out any low-health creatures. I got lucky and the enemy split their forces, maybe because of the hounds.

Once I won a couple battles without losing any bile demons or dragons, the game was pretty much mine to win! Again, not perfect, could have done better, but I finally got through!
Congratulations, well done.

I know you played the level in KeeperFX, because in the regular game you aren't attacked at all. But I find that with this map has become too difficult for newer players. I will look into it sometime to make this map a bit easier in a future version of 'KeeperFX Unofficial'.
He attacks in this realm just fine. In DKGold, I think believe the AI builds bridges / digs offensive tunnels under appropriate financial conditions (they cannot have either too much or too little money). They also always start throwing taunts when they hit the creature limit for the map, which is usually accompanied by a call to arms spell. These behaviors might even be two different routines, like check for gold tiles versus seek the enemy, respectively, but there seems to be no problem with the AI in this level.

Basically you know the keeper will get on the move when he hits the creature limit, so check it periodically. This "timer" is useful in a lot of the OC maps.

Yes, but he gets up to speed quicker than most people can handle. And where in the original game this was one of the easiest maps, it now became one were only expert players could win without a transferred unit. I slowed the blue keeper down by not having him make as many imps and not giving him access to a bridge as soon.

This was introduced in KeeperFX Unofficial 0.4.7.1953. So if you want to play this, either wait for KeeperFX 0.4.8 to be released, or download and install KeeperFX Unofficial 0.4.7 and patch it with alpha 1953 or newer.
