Update

Dungeon Keeper
Script ported to ./play.it 2, most notable improvements are Arch Linux (and derivatives) support, and language-specific packages built for any supported language. Combination of text and voices using different languages can be used.

Thanks a lot for your help to make this easily playable on my Linux laptop! Noob question...I'd like to redefine the movement keys to WASD instead of arrows (being a laptop, pgup/pgdown etc aren't easy combos). But if I press W, A, S or D for redefining the directions, it won't let me. Other keys do work, or even combinations, but somehow not the ones I want....Am I missing something?

Thanks!

Looks like this is the same issue than reported here: DK 1 Mac- Not able to "define keys"

There are some keys that can’t be used when remapping controls, including W, A and S. (D can be used)
I’m not sure we can do anything about it…

Sorry, new to this, but it seems that this script broke with the offline file update last March of 2019 (setup_dungeon_keeper_gold_10.1_(28184).exe). I tried changing the exe file referenced in the script to the current version and running it without checking the checksum, but it doesn't seem to build the deb files. When I run it with "bash -x" to debug, this is the end of the script, but doesn't seem like an error:

Sometimes changing the name of the file referenced in the script may be enough, but this will not work here as there are big changes between the current installer and the previous one.

A proposed patch brings support for the current installer provided by GOG: Game update: Dungeon Keeper - New archives
Here is a direct download link to the script: play-dungeon-keeper-1.sh

If you give it a try, your feedback would be most welcome ;)

That worked beautifully for me, thanks! The only change I had to make was to use innoextract 1.8 instead of the 1.7 I had installed through apt. Not a big deal but it looks like 1.7 couldn't unpack the new installer from GOG.

Thanks again!
