I have the Steam Goty of FO4 but there is a growing thread that is filled with woe is me and that the update will break mods again. I know whatever they "Bethesda" did a while back on consoles made it so I can't log in to fix my load order but I am still logged in to play the game.

The question is now, will this update Fubar the game and the use of mods here on GoG also? I would much rather play on PC anyway.

You can always revert patch if you don't like it. Also you can download and backup installers.

I didn't know that was an option here on GoG, For The backup installers I download all the files and reinstall them offline correct?

Correct. In the Galaxy launcher, look under Extras under FO4 where you can download the offline installer or you can find it via the website in your games list under account.

Thank you both much appreciated.
I just finished doing that, now I need to clear some space on my Game drive.

On games page click those two sliders icon -> manage instalation -> configure and choose previous patch. Galaxy will take care of everything. And disable auto patching, either for F4 or globally.
There is no reason to update the GOG versions of Skyrim and Fallout 4. No significant bug fixes are being rolled out at this point, and almost everyone playing on this platform is using the Unofficial Patches and the Script Extenders. The updates mostly concern Creation Club content for both, which aren't even available in these versions. The whole point of having them on GOG is to be immune from random Bethesda updates that are completely useless.

Excuse the late reply, I do appreciate the info, one of the reasons I purchased FO4 on GoG was to get away from the DRM BS on Steam, and I was hoping to get away from the forced updates, I am glad to hear that this is the case. And I have always heavily modded my game going back to the days of Disabling Windows live in FO3 with this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/1086
