Just installed it. Many thanks BM!
Barefoot_Monkey: Barefoot Essentials 2.0 is now out :)
This update adds visual hints for shortcut keys nest to the quick post box, and changes the appearance of the "Post edited" notes that the forum puts at the bottom of edited posts. It's not a huge change from the previous version, but it has changed so much since version 1.0 that a major version bump is in order. And since the fall of userscripts.org means that everyone will need to manually install this update before future ones can be delivered automatically, this is the perfect time to have that version bump. And a good time to have an entirely new thread to commemorate it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Barefoot Essentials is userscript which adds many enhancements and improvements to the GOG.com website and forum (click here for more information), and also gives you the ability to easily share your GOG game collection and wishlist on the GOG community wiki.
Installing Barefoot Essentials is a 2-step process:
Step 1
It is implemented as a Greasemonkey userscript, which means it will work on most browsers, but you'll first need to have some extension to add support for Greasemonkey-compatible userscripts.
- For Firefox, I recommend installing the original Greasemonkey extension
- For Chrome-based browsers (such as Google Chrome, Chromium, SRWare Iron and newer Opera browsers) I recommend installing the Tampermonkey extension
- For older versions of the Opera browser (version 12 or earlier) I recommend getting Violent Monkey
Step 2
Once you have one of those extensions installed on your browser (and restarted your browser if necessary), simply go to this page and click on the "Install this script" button to install it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alternatively, users of Chrome-based browsers (such as Google Chrome, Chromium, SRWare Iron and newer Opera browsers) can get Barefoot Essentials as an actual Chrome extension from the Chrome Web Store. Because it's a native Chrome extension, you won't need Tampermonkey installed. At the time of writing the extension on Chrome Web Store is still at version 1.10.6 (from 2 months ago), but it still works well and you'll be automatically upgraded to version 2.0 as soon as it arrives on the store.

Ok the changelog on every page (main site or forum) came back.
Skeletonbow said he had the same problem, but seems to me we were talking about two different things so I'll try to explain again what's happening.
While I browse the site, any time I load a page on GOG (main site, forum, wishlist, you name it) I'll have the HUD of the changelog right in my face every time. This happens even when I'm replying to someone in a new window (by pressing reply to), and after my post is displayed (once the page is reloaded).
Edit 2: again, it stopped occurring after a few times I had closed and reopened Firefox.

skeletonbow: Yep. Also, whenever I post in the forums, then refresh the GOG homepage in another browser tab I'm automatically logged out of GOG and have to log back in again (GOG site flaw I presume), however whenever this happens barefoot essentials re-displays the new release splash screen every time, as well as the first time visiting gog.com after a browser restart. Just started doing that in Firefox 30 a few days ago.
Edit: thinking about it though, I believe this problem did arise once I updated to Firefox 30 as skeletonbow was saying. Edit 2: again, it stopped occurring after a few times I had closed and reopened Firefox.

It happened to me just now. I added a bunch of debugging code to my local copy, so if I see the changelog again then I'll know why, but in the meantime I have a good guess of what might be happening so tonight I'll make a minor update which should stop this from happening again (if my guess is right).

It recurs for me randomly although I'm not certain if it is related to Barefoot Essentials or not. I should also say that Firefox 30 is just an observation of corelation too, but there may not be a causal relationship. Hard to say on that one easily. :)Skeletonbow said he had the same problem, but seems to me we were talking about two different things so I'll try to explain again what's happening.

Thanks for your tireless efforts to continuously enrich this irreplaceable tool with features that we request. :-D
Having said that, I noticed that if you click on "Open your user page on GOGWiki", it opens the requested page in the same tab you access the Barefoot Essentials menu. That's a tiny bit inconvenient, as you then have to click your way back to GOG. I was wondering if it's possible to have it open the GOGWiki user page in a new tab.
Thanks ahead for considering this request. :-)

Yeah, that would be cool too! I've been working around that by middle-clicking on a random link on the page first to open a new GOG window that I can then open barefoot on and if it follows a link I'm not losing track of the page I was viewing. That works but is a change of habit when clicking on links. Perhaps making it do as-is for a click, but open in another tab for a middle-click? That would follow existing browser conventions for Firefox at least. Or even some config option would be cool. Not a big deal either way though. :) Having said that, I noticed that if you click on "Open your user page on GOGWiki", it opens the requested page in the same tab you access the Barefoot Essentials menu. I haven't seen any updates yet though, not sure why... lemme try a reload...

Thank you very much for taking the time to improve my enjoyment of using GOG.com. I've been using the older version for so long that I have forgotten what the old GOG site looks and functions like, and I don't think I could handle going back! :)
And already I'm loving the improvements with this version! (notices control+space next to the quick reply option) :)

On the forum front page, would it be possible to have low rated thread titles show up in a different color from visited threads? Right now, they're both sort of greyed out and it would be nice to to be able to tell the two apart from a quick glance.
