HypersomniacLive: Sounds like they sorted it out earlier than anticipated and just haven't updated their Desura news yet, or maybe the update is on their Facebook/ Twitter.
Could be they hoped to have it more complete than they did, and decided to push out the alpha under the cover of "hey, if it's broken, it's an alpha". :)

That's actually what I was wondering about, but there's a new post by the devs:

So we managed to get the game working finally! Bear in mind that it is just a very basic alpha right now, and we'll be uploading the latest patch (which has about a month's worth of improvements) in the next week - we'll have a news post up about it as soon as we do!
Boredom of Agustín Cordes

Have you ever wondered how does it feel to be Agustín Cordes – the award winning game developer of an extraordinary game called Scratches and an upcoming masterpiece Asylum?

Well – now you can.

In the game you assume role of the titular protagonist, who is stuck at the hotel room while waiting for his friends to arrive. Having a bottle as his only companion, he sinks deeper and deeper into boredom. Then, suddenly, things start to happen.

The game has been created in mere two days during GamesCom 2013.
Highlights of the game:

1. Incredibly minimalistic low resolution retro old school pixel art graphics
2. An unparallel and unseen way how to get bored
3. Unexpected ending

Don't Drink the Pink

Don't Drink the Pink is a short point-and-click adventure game made in the image of the golden age classics of the genre.

The game was submitted to and won the January 2014 MAGS competition "Something Cold, Something Burrowed, Something Pink."

Dudefish Episode 1: Squidsteen's Legacy

Follow the misadventures of Dudefish, a guy that suddenly wakes up as a fish. Find out why you are a fish and who made you that way. Discover a town filled with sea creatures in the same situation while trying to uncover the mystery of a dead founder called Squidsteen.

New addition to ShinyLoot's free game collection. A couple others that may have been mentioned already but which are new to me are Cut & Paste and Robot Assault.

Ah, that looks cute.
The only thing that I don't like about ShinyLoot's free games is that you have only the option to download them and can't add them to your game library to download at a later time.

Strange, I just need to click on "Download Now" to add free games to my library. ;)

Really? I need to check this again then. Thanks for the heads up :-)

I believe triock is correct. I just checked my list and Maldita Castilla is indeed in my library from when I downloaded it a while back. It's nice they do this, I wish Desura would do it that way. (I don't use the Desura client, so of course I get inferior service.)

Now that you mentioned Desura, I realised that it was Desura I had in mind (also not using their client).
So, apologies to ShinyLoot.

I cannot express in words how much I wish they let you 'Add to Library' without immediately starting the download.
I don't know if the new one has been posted: http://www.thefreebundle.com/

RE: Alistair++

Merui loves video games, especially her favorite MMORPG, Rivenwell Online. Merui also has a very short temper, so when some JERK named Alistair steals a rare item from her, she's determined to exact revenge on him. Unfortunately, she has no idea who he is in real life. But hey, that's never stopped anyone, right? Take control of Merui and make new friends, balance schoolwork and fun, go shopping, search for the culprit, and maybe even discover a new romance.

Icarus Proudbottom's World Of Typing Weekly

Icarus Proudbottom Teaches Typing

Two funny games about typing :)
Today's upcoming Desura Freedom Friday titles are:

The Way of Life

This exploration game has 3 main characters: a business man, an old man and a child. They find themselves on a road which is apparently the same, but changes upon their perception of reality. The core of the gameplay is to explore in order to see how different is each point of view. The player will switch from one character to another trying to correctly and fully interact with all the environment. Missing an interaction or trying to interact with the wrong elements will determine "loss" in the game, causing the game to restart from the beginning.

Ninja Torappu

Ninja Torappu is a stupid game about twitch reflexes, pixel perfect platforming and sheer dumb luck. It is the result of my attempt at combining Mario, Spelunky & Danmaku (or ‘bullet hell’) style games, all wrapped up with an original Game Boy flavour. Work your way down an endless, randomly generating tower of doom as it spits fireballs, arrows, spikes and evil demon skulls at you, all in an attempt to end your run. It’ll speed up, it’ll slow down, but it’ll never stop trying to claim you…

Pest Control From Outer Space

P.C.F.O.S is a game with a touch of puzzle and survival with a third person top view. The player plays the role of Bert Badejo, an intergalactic bug exterminator. Bert goes from one space station to another on a daily basis, freeing them from the threat of the "Cucaracho", a creature from the deep space... And pretty dangerous! To do that, Bert has to act like a hunter ... Explore that labyrinthine space station, set some traps and recover all the tools you can use to beat the living hell out of it. But the Cucaracho is a tricky one. It can catch you off guard in no time, if you let it. Also, you have to get rid of the annoying little Pests in the ship. Are you ready to take on the Cucaracho?

An Apparently Normal Room

A white room in the middle of nowhere. It has nothing special. A single light illuminates the room. But it's not as simple as that.

Games should be available later today.
