Thanks for keeping these up to date for us :).
I keep wondering why indie devs keep throwing out multiplayer games....

Easier than writing proper AI would be my guess. Either that or they think they're going to get a slice of the MMO-addiction pie. Kind of need a good game first for that, though. :)

pablodusk: Wow, that gameplay footage is actually comical. One of the devs (I assume) wrote a comment on Desura saying they "found that there isn't much fun in slow and very tactical battle movement ." Um? Sounds like they should've made a space shooter.

[...]
Yeah, I too read that comment, don't know what to think.

Hmm, never thought of this, need to remember to check it when logged in. Cheers!

3rd reason: a friend is doing some courses right now to be qualified in areas he already knows (well done UK jobs market! nobbers!)... anyways, as a part of one course locally, they actually have to design something along the lines of either a social network or a social "game" - some people opting fot the latter have gone for farmville type shit, others for MMO type shit.
I would guess that explains an amount of the glut at least if courses in other locales are also doing the same. Not all of it of course... most of it is the programmers having no ideas would be my guess.

It's a good point taken broadly too. A lot of schools offer video game courses now, and certainly a number of indies are labelled as school projects. So that could indeed account for the some of the general increase in overall games as well.

Sky Taxi: Top Secret is the Game Giveaway of the day. 16 hours left to get to it.

Edit: Sorry to post this in this not-so-appropiate thread. My dumb fingers and my pohne conspired to do that.

Bee Logic

Experience this classic puzzle game in Cubic Pie’s independent release for PC. Bee logic is a puzzle game with minesweeper mechanics on hexagon field with 3d graphics. And yes, it's totally free: no hidden payments.

Cool! Hexcells wasn't bad, but I found the lack of puzzle generator significant. More puzzles, wherever they come from, are definitely welcome!

That's why I have Hexcells Infinite in my wishlist. Once I clear the final sequences of Splice, Fractal and Girls Like Robots and I might look into that. The Coupon Dump group has 50% coupons. ;-)

madth3: Splice ... Girls Like Robots
The later levels of these games are truly challenging. Good stuff.
