I have created a fix to address The Great Battles Of Hannibal and The Great Battles Of Caesar not running and The Great Battles Of Alexander crashing in campaign mode:
https://www.moddb.com/groups/aces-random-files/downloads/the-great-battles-collectors-edition-windows-10-patch

Edit: Since the fix is awaiting authorization on ModDB here it is on another site:

Is this still available? The link shows as "awaiting authorization" on ModDB.
I've been waiting for days for them to authorize it. Haha ;)

Link seems to be broken. Can you explain what this patch actually does? I'm trying to play Alexander on Windows 11 and I keep getting constant crashes when trying to run one of the battle scenarios. I'm wondering if this would help.

This fix uses a fair number of the original files of the games because the GOG version of those files were borked and it also provides an extended track for Hannibal and Caesar as those games will crash at the end of their soundtracks.

Also I've created a new link which should this time stay up properly:

This fix works on Windows 11 as well. Thank you!! Two things - music isn't playing for me, nor the intro video. Any ideas?

FYI - games must be run from the .exe, so make a new shortcut.

This sounds like you need to download the K-Lite Codec pack to get the audio and video files to work, doing this should also remove the need to use the .exe file itself:

I've installed this pack, but maybe I didn't choose the correct settings. The above issues are from after installation of the K-lite pack as well. Any tips?

If you haven't I'd suggest restarting your PC to see if that helps.
I enter to this forum with hope that someone had found a fix. The miracles exist!! Thank you for your work!

Unfortunately, I have tried hannibal and no luck, it doesn't work.

It doen't run.

I have installed both both packs and nothing. Maybe I didn't choose the correct setting. Any idea?

I have not tried Caesar or Alexander yet (I never have a issue with that, though)

EDIT: Never mind, I restarted the computer, reinstaled the packs and the game worked!!

Again, thanks for your excellent work!!!

The good news is that I think I've got it working for Alexander and Hannibal, but when I start up Caesar it instantly quits itself.

You are a champion! Finally got it to load after all these years! However it crashes for me randomly in battles so its unplayable. You gave me hope though, hopefully someone gets to play it without the crashing
Also, the game crashes to desktop after winning the first battle of the Hannibal campaign (not that I mind so much about that; the campaign is really just a wrapper for playing the battles)
