Ive been playing Chernobyl the last few days , but today I opened the game only to find my keyboard isnt recognised , as in none of the keys do anything..
wasd wont move my character , cant switch weapons ect , nothing...

I verified files then uninstalled and reinstalled but didnt help.

I even deleted all folders and lost the save ...

I dont mind starting again as long as I can play...

Any ideas ??

Cheers.
You should provide more information about your system (hardware, OS, etc.) in order to get help.

That said, the problem you are experiencing is very strange, especially considering that the game used to work. Have you tried rebooting the PC (source)?
Because you should use Eng(-QWERTY to be more specific) as default input language set in your OS. Even russian game versions (many ones) require that.

After you change KB layot input to Eng - relaunch game go to settings and reset controls to default.

This is false; my gog version of SoC does this with my English keyboard. My disk version of it does not.

No your is false. Set default layot AND current layot BEFORE sarting game to EN-US (QWERTY). After yuo start the game go to game controls menu and press reset to default.

Do not switch it to FR-AZERTY when game launched.

This is general rule for any game, and localisation. If your FRA disk version work properly with AZERTY - well its rare exception. Using latin only symbols in path (no umlauts and space's), limit FPS, and use QWERTY layot (before game launch and with resetting after launch) still mandatory for PC gaming.
Its not a bug if GOG Multi version require that.

Admin rights been mandatory as well before WinVista. And still is in differ way. Install and first run. With also all further runs if you not clearly get how Windows UAC+VirtualStore work.

Use admin run for first game run and configure it. Same for GOG's language selectors and launchers. If there is some launcher adminrun set for it and automatically applied to the game. GOG Galaxy if actual used as Install (not just launcher of pre-installed or as downloader for offline backup) also sometimes should be relaunched as admin. And as launcher adminrun set to galaxy exe applied to all gamed started directly from Library.

If you still have issues with controls its looks like KB issue. Maybe game Bug as well. Did it work with KB you currently have? Sometimes there is issues with games and non-letters buttons of non QWERTY or Apple Mac keyboards. Game isues indeed is one of the possible reasons.
But to diagnoses it first need set QWERTY as main (UP in the list) input layot. And best if possible to try with differ Keyboards.
