Hey,

I have one small problem with deciding where to pre-order Tesla Effect:
GOG and Steam have different soundtracks as pre-order bonus.

Does anybody know if GOG will also get the Tex Murphy Live Jazz soundtrack Steam pre-orders are getting? Because I'd like to pre-order it on GOG more than on Steam, but this soundtrack sounds more interesting then the Tesla Effect soundtrack we are getting here.

Thanks in advance

Note: I did not follow the Kickstarter all that closely (although I should have, I love Under a Killing Moon and the games after it) because of life stuff, so I don't really know if the Live Jazz soundtrack comes from or whatever.

I'm not sure if they are different soundtracks, but if they are, GOG will probably not be getting it.
You can preview the GOG soundtrack on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Tex-Murphy-Tesla-Effect-Soundtrack/dp/B00JHBHAGK/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1397154513&sr=8-6&keywords=tesla+effect

If indeed the soundtracks are different then it is possible there is no soundtrack yet on Steam, as a high tier backer there are 3 soundtrack placholders in the backer page and only one of them was filled (with the same soundtrack as on GOG).
Ah ok that helps me a little bit.
I assume they are 2 different soundtracks, because Atlus called them 2 different names in their newsletter regarding Tesla Effect pre-orders.

It's possible, but nothing has been told to the backers yet, so it's possible there won't be an answer till after the release.
As soon as I know something I will post here.

Thank you for that. Strange they leave the backers in the dark about this.

Not only about this. It looks like they are not going to send complimentary Steam codes to backers, as any other respectable Kickstarter campaign would.

What? That sounds really stupid and short sighted. Why would you do this to the people that gave you money so you could restart your old game series?

I am a backer as well, and I see no such statement from BFG regarding Steam keys (or any other type of keys).
What is known for now is that Beta backers got GOG codes, we don't know how the rest of the backers will get their codes.

I'm pretty positive Steam will be an option for backers who wish it, there is time until the game is released, so no need to panic (yet)
Beta from GOG? That's something new. The projects I know (i.e. Wasteland 2) use Steam for their betas and will add GOG and other distribution plattforms after that.

Yes, that came as a surprise to me as well (I was sure it would be through Steam). GOG provided their regular installer and all went smooth as butter :)

I asked them about this twice and they didn't even answer.

They have other things on their mind, like releasing the game itself. I'm sure that a few days before release they will let us know how the game will be given to backers.
I decided I want this game on GOG regardless of which soundtrack(s) it gets, because I have all the other Tex Murphy games here. So I'll mark this question thread as answered, although the soundtrack situation is still a bit mysterious and probably will be until the game is released.

The Live Jazz soundtrack was just released to the backers and indeed it is different than the one on GOG (it did not hit Steam yet)

The other 2 soundtracks are available on Amazon, so it is quite possible you could buy it from there in the near future.

Here are the links for the current soundtracks on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JHBHAGK/ref=dm_ws_ap_tlw_alb3 <-- Same as GOG version
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KGBCP74/ref=dm_ws_ap_tlw_alb4 <-- Currently seems to be KS Backers exclusive
