Apparently CDPR never actually played through the Witcher after porting it to Apple Silicon as you cannot progress out of the tutorial without the game crashing. When you have to go down the the Witchers lab in Kaer Morhen in the tutorial level the game crashes. There are two times you need to go down there and I tested on the first one and a saved a game on the second time you need to go down into the lab and the game crashes each time preventing you from completing the tutorial and stopping progression in the game.

I can confirm that the same happens to me. I am using Macbook Air 2020 M1 16GB with macOS Sonoma 14.1.1

It is a real shame that nobody bothered to test this version. I was really hyped when I've heard there's an Apple Silicon version of The Witcher. I hope folks at CDPR will fix it soon!
yea same here hopefully they fix it soon
i can also confirm this aswell

crashes every time going into the lab in kaer morhen
I have the same situation, hoping for a patch soon

You may try to save your game in a location before the lab, run the game in Rosetta mode and get past trough it (there will be a slight peformance hit). Unfortunately it is not the only location where game crashes in native mode. Lazy port indeed

Same issue here. MacbookPro 16" M1Pro 32GB RAM, MacOS 14.2. Thanks for the tip.

It is a poor port. Any news on whether they plan to update this anytime soon?
