I have checked the forum for any answer to this, but haven't found anything beyond mods asking for log information. I also read that this problem may have been fixed in a launcher patch, but re-downloading the game from GOG has not fixed this issue.

After I install the beta initially, it logs me into the GOG launcher, and I can use it as normal. Once I close it after the first time, however, I cannot get it to re-open no matter what I do. Double clicking any of the three executables in the galaxyclient folder do nothing, not even in the running processes tab of ctrl-alt-delete.

I have turned off virus software, made rules for the windows firewall/router, and turned off the firewall completely, and still nothing. I am still able to play the game by launching it directly, but it means in order to update the game I need to completely uninstall/reinstall the game and launcher every time.

Any ideas?

I should add I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, completely patched.

Does clicking the shortcut on the desktop work? Or the shortcut in the game installation directory? If that doesn't solve the problem, please send us your logs, as described in the first post here. Thanks! :)

Win7 Ult 64 here as well. I installed GOGG for the 1st time and it ran fine. Had a few problems with Witcher 3 disk space, so after a bit of troubleshooting, I uninstalled and reinstalled GOGG. Never got it to run at all after that until now.

The 1st time I installed it, it was to my Win7 installation drive (the C drive). When I installed it the 2nd time, I put it on a different drive. So I rebooted and no luck getting it to run, so I uninstalled it again and put it on the Win7 installation disk again (C drive), and it now works again.

Hope this helps.

And regarding The Witcher 3 problem, after I reinstalled it the second time and deleted my !download folder, I was able to select UNINSTALL and proceed with the installation just fine.
Apparently GOGG only wants to be on your Windows installation hard drive.

Same problem here, GOG Launcher is not working on C: drive, only on D (not system drive), I don't know why...

UPD:
----------------

Fixed it - in cmd write: sc delete GalaxyClientService, then reinstall GOG:G.

Mine is crashing at launch out of the blue, but what annoy's me is that you cannot reinstall Galaxy as it says it it the same or newer version! This means uninstalling GOG Galaxy completely which means on reinstall Galaxy is going to check every f'ing GOG game you have installed. If like me you have about 80 games installed, it takes about 5 hours!

Why can't you just reinstall? Why is there not an option to verify Galaxy? I am not bothering with Galaxy any more because I know I will need 5 hours to get my Galaxy back to what it was!
Having same problem as well; GOG Galaxy will nto launch, no other GOG Galaxy-installed games will launch separately (Divinity Original SIn 2, Pillars of Eternity, etc.) either. It was working well up until yesterday (1/1/2018) but now is unresponsive. I will try to uninstall and reinstall the client to see if that works as I wait for an official answer.

OS: WIN 10
