The Witcher Adventure Game uses a launcher for the purposes of auto-updating the game and testing some of the features that will be available in the Galaxy Client. Please read the points below before posting any feedback regarding the launcher. Thank you!

1. Always start (or restart) the Launcher before playing the game. Let the update process finish (wait until status text changes to UP TO DATE), before clicking PLAY button.

2. If the application crashes or you encounter any problem or error, please go to http://mantis.gog.com, log in with your GOG.com account as usual and create an issue for us there. Please attach any information that will help us resolve the issue faster, such as logs (location where to find them is below), detailed reproduction steps, screenshots, etc.

Logs location:
On Windows Vista or later: C:\ProgramData\GalaxyClient\Logs
On Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\GalaxyClient\Logs
On MacOSX: /Users/Shared/Galaxy/Logs

3. If you encounter any other problem with the application, please post a detailed description, and if possible - method of reproducing it.

Marenubium: Hello,
Just downloaded and installed the game.
The launcher won't start though, it keeps on "running" without doing anything.
OS: Mavericks 10.9.3
Could you please remove everything, download the game installer once more and install? Seems we've put online a corrupted installer.

Let me know if that helped.

iddalai: Hi Guys!

I've played a few matches ever since I got the beta key, and today I got the error "Entry Point Not Found".

I tried uninstalling the program and installing again, but I get the same error when installing.

Everytime I try to run the Galaxy Client I get this error and it won't run.

I'm using Windows XP 32bits.

Logs and error message in attachment (logs is a txt file, just change the extension).
This bug has been fixed, it will be available in the next version of Launcher.

jeremyhetzler: 1) Need the ability to change my screen name. I used my real name when signing up for GOG, but I don't want to use it for online games.

2) Launcher music is way too loud and has no volume control.
1. Contact support and ask them to change the screen name, maybe they'll be able to help you.
2. The Launcher has no music ;)

HypersomniacLive: I have a couple of issues, but first a couple of questions.

(A) I install all my GOG games to D:\GOG Games. Do I need to change the installation path for this one? And to where?
(B) During installation, I noticed that the installer (or GOG Galaxy client?) creates the path C:\GOG Games which is empty. Is the game supposed to be installed there?
(C) Upon uninstalling, a good number of traces related to the GOG Galaxy client are left behind. Is this going to be fixed (because I hate it when apps behave this way)?

And I uninstalled everything to try again with the latest installer after getting answers to my questions. :-)

Cheers!
A) Yes, try the default path on drive C:.
B) Yes, the default is C:\GOG Games and for now please install the game to that catalog, just for the Beta purposes. We'll make sure to have this option available for you later on.
C) We'll try to remove everything, I'll pass this issue to our product team.

HypersomniacLive: Could I please get answers to my questions here, please? Pretty please with cherries on top? :-)
Well sure, here you go! :)

iddalai: Posting this again since you may not notice my edited post.

I used to have a "Entry Point Not Found" error related with a KERNEL32.dll issue.

Just downloaded the last verion "2.0.31.29" and it seems to be working! I havent played a match yet but I'm able to access the Galaxy Launcher again!

YAY! :D
Yeah, this issue has been fixed in the newest version of Launcher :)

Ace_TRACE7: This is more of a question than an issue. Nonetheless, I was curious to know if the client will eventually have an option to manually log in and log out or if the log in and log out processes will always be automated. Thanks.
To be clear, this is a game launcher, not the full featured Galaxy Client. We're thinking of course about the option to log out. But in the case of this online Beta, you cannot play when you're logged out.

meudoland: errors during install. then the galaxy client always crashes.
Hi meudoland,

do you remember what the errors during installation were related to? Could you send us the crash report (a dialog should appear after each crash), preferably with some info that this is the case when something failed during install?

Does a full reinstall (uninstall game+launcher, redownload installer) solve your problem?

meudoland: there is no further evidence, during install a window pops up saying galaxy client crashed.
when I try to start the installed game, occurs the same and nothing else.
Ok, I understand now. Thanks for the info, we are investigating the issue.

avatar
meudoland: I have also noticed that the install forces to stop all the system processes.....
avatar
iddalai: I have a small issue with the Game Installer, everytime I install the "game and launcher", it closes other applications (notepad, vlc, folders, malwarebytes) during installation.
And we are investigating this one as well :) We found the root cause, and it should soon be fixed.

Mathute87: Hey, team, I got a key a few hours ago, but when I run the installer as the administrator, accept the EULA, and press "Install", the progress bar won't move. It's been like that for 5 minutes. I have Windows 7 and I downloaded both from the GOG download manager and directly from the site. I tried installing FTL: Advanced Edition and it worked without issues.
Hi Mathute87, that's an interesting bug. Did some log files appear, as indicated in the first post? If yes, could you send them to us? Thanks!

Liosan

Mathute87: No log files appear. As soon as I start the installation the progress bar doesn't move at all, and the installer just stays there until I close it manually. Haven't been able to install the game as of yet.
Hm, too bad. We'll try to look into the issue; thanks for the info.

Does this happen with any other game from GOG?

EDIT: Nevermind, just found your post about FTL. Please contact Support with this problem, it will be easier to solve it that way :-)

zels: It would be nice to see the download speed and not just the completion percentage and size.
More feature are coming to the Galaxy Client.
avatar
xaid: looks like the launcher is always offline.. please fix this
Hi xaid, please post the issue to http://mantis.gog.com and make sure to attach your launcher log files - thanks!

avatar
SmashManiac: Not really bugs, but more like design flaws with the launcher
Thanks for the feedback, SmashManiac. Those are issues we certainly plan to fix in the future, but we're focusing on other things right now.

avatar
doomcrow: I quit the launcher during a game update after reaching for example 20%, When I reopen the launcher It restarts downloading the game updates from the beginning. Will it be possible to add a resume feature?
Hi doomcrow. Actually, we have a resume feature. If it doesn't work then we have a bug :) Please post the issue to http://mantis.gog.com and make sure to attach your launcher log files - thanks!

skinandbones13: However, the last time I tried which got me to the dice before disconnected I exited and launched the game and it failed the authentication. I then launched the game again, I can't quite remember if it did authenticate me or maybe it didn't even get that far before it crashed with a C++ runtime error.
Hi skinandbones13. This crash should be fixed by now. If it happens again after you restart the launcher, please report it to http://mantis.gog.com. Thanks! :)

Dookalyon: Hi! first of all a big thank you for being included in the beta, just downloaded and installed the game... worked flawlessly (installation I mean, mighty fast too)... what I first noticed is that the game launcher (GOG Laucher 0.1.0.398) has and indicator that says "Offline"
Hi Dookalyon, if the launcher says "Offline" then you won't be able to play the game. The launcher should show you a login screen - unless your network connection is down. Please try again, and if it doesn't work - send us your logs as indicated in the first post. Thanks!

chrisegan1982: hello , i have tried to start the game a couple of Times now and i cant get into a lobby. when the lobby is trying to load the game crashes.
chrisegan1982, the crash should be fixed by now (if you still get it then please report it, as the first post says :) ), disconnects are something we are working on.

avatar
MarTinazzI: My only problem is that the launcher does not start at login screen after you log in for the first time, making it impossible to change the login or switch to offline mode.
Heh, we know it's a problem. We'll add it some day, I promise :)

avatar
Damiano_o: The launcher should provide a resumeable download. As I'm currently forced to use a slow connection that restarts every hour, I'm unable to update the game, because before I'm able to download the whole update, my connection restarts and I have to download the whole update all over again from scratch. Come on!
Hi Damiano_o, that's a bug we are currently working on. It should be fixed soon. Sorry for the trouble.

LeoLR: I think I can shed some light on meudoland's issue because is an issue I meet from time to time. It is probably due the processor.

I also have a computer with a Athlon XP. I didn't have any difficult with the installation process, however on this PC the client/game doesn't start.

The problem is this family of processor lacks several instructions (SSE2 and higher ones). So if a program is written requiring any instruction above SSE it will not run on a Athlon XP no matter which OS or the amount of RAM installed. You could check if this is the case for the Galaxy Client.
Hm, interesting. Could you report this at http://mantis.gog.com, as indicated in the first post in this thread? We'd like to look into that issue.
