A true RPG design achievement!

Divinity: Original Sin, the epic-scaled RPG from Larian Studios, very modern but also true to the best traditions of computer role playing games design with its isometric view, story-driven gameplay, and top-notch turn-based combat mechanics, is available for Windows and Mac OS X, DRM-Free on GOG.com! You can also enrich your experience with the Source Hunter DLC, that comes with two unique in-game items, a digital artbook, design documents and a full original soundtrack.

Divinity: Original Sin is the old-school role-playing title you've been dreaming about. If you were ever imagining how the legendary classics like Baldur's Gate would look and feel like, were they developed today, this is your answer! Larian Studios managed to make good on all of their promises of classic gameplay, extensive world, gripping storyline, and flexible system paired with high production value of contemporary double-A titles. With up to a hundred hours of playtime needed to beat the game with all of its branching stories and tons of optional quests the game can prove to be everything you want it to be, and more! It also takes what's best after the modern games: rich and vivid 3D graphics, an extensive item crafting system, and a finely balanced multi-player mode. A perfect mix of classic and new RPG design, if we ever saw one.

Set out to explore the fantastic colorful realm created by Larian Studios, and make a new home for yourself in the vibrant world of Divinity: Original Sin (or even grab some extra Source Hunter DLC gear), on GOG.com. The price of the game varies from region to region, but don't be alarmed! Following the GOG.com tradition we're offering a Fair Price Package with this title, so everyone who is adversely affected by the pricing plan will be compensated with gift-codes (you will find yours in your order confirmation email).

NOTE:
The version of the game offered here comes with the full single-player campaign, but currently supports only LAN/DirectIP multiplayer modes, with on-line multiplayer features coming as a later update, powered by GOG Galaxy, our DRM-Free online gaming platform. Thank you for your patience!
I hope we on GOG won't be left out. I didn't had time to check Divinity:OS yet, but I think i'll start with the enhanced version directly :)

VanishedOne: I have a dim idea of what an AAA game is, but does this mean famous actors? Expensive actors? Battery-powered actors?
It probably just mean "professional" voice actors, as in they didn't take the devs, the janitor and/or some random guy, who just happened to wander in the office at that time, to do the voice over.

They mention gog in the comment of the kickstarter update:

Some questions posted so far:
[snip]
Q: Will we be able to choose the platform for the free copy of the new version, or will it only be available on PC?
A: No, it is linked to the platform that you have purchased the game in the first place (Steam, GOG etc)

Must've missed that :) Cool!
I don't have the game yet, but I will eventually.

So happy that Larian is making this update free to existing users. The whole Strike Suit Zero thing continues to leave a bad taste in my mouth. :/

I'm also glad to hear that the original version of the game will continue to remain available since apparently, my hardware is too ancient to run the Enhanced version...
Kickstarter Update #68

Larian At E3 & Larian At Home! Bard’s Tale IV & Umbra shoutout!

Ready for E3?
E3 is just around the corner, and we have some big questions to answer. Can we bring an RPG to the console? Can we recreate the same fantastic Original Sin experience if you're relaxing in your living room, holding a controller? Will it still feel as natural as a mouse and keyboard?

Ever since Divinity: Original Sin launched, we've been working hard on the Enhanced Edition to ensure that playing on a console feels as smooth and intuitive as it does on a PC. On top of that, we’ve also been adding plenty of content such as new quests, new puzzles, voices for every character, and a host of other improvements.

Now we're ready to share the results with the world.

You can see the Enhanced Edition in action on the Twitch E3 Show (Monday 15th), or you can drop by the Game Trailers show on Tuesday, the IGN show on Wednesday - to hear every detail about the fantastic new features that the Enhanced Edition brings to Original Sin!

And if you're a member of the media, or an established Youtuber/Twitch streamer, we still have some free time slots to let you experience the Enhanced Edition for yourself! Journalists should contact Tom Ohle of EvolvePR (tom@evolve-pr.com) to book a slot.

We’ll be sharing a lot of Divinity:Original Sin Enhanced Edition news at E3, so if you want to be sure you don’t miss out on anything, follow us on Twitter and Facebook. Rumor has it that images will be released of the behind-the-scenes bacchanal parties at the Larian house!

Can You Travel To Ghent, Belgium?

We only announced Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition a few weeks ago, but we’ve already been inundated with requests from Source Hunters anxious to play right now. And we want to make that happen. So, we’re delighted to invite a few brave testers to our HQ in Ghent, Belgium, to grapple with the game. If you can travel here, we’d love you to come over and try out new our gameplay modes, rewritten story, and brand new quests!

- We will start public playtesting in our Ghent office on the morning of June 29th, and will carry on until July 10th.

- Interested? Just mail playtesting@larian.com with your name, age (18+ only), email address and previous experience with Divinity: Original Sin for a chance to see the Enhanced Edition before anyone else!

- Players must be available for one full day between June 29th and July 10th.

- Players are required to be in the office for a full day, arriving at 10:00 and leaving at 16:00.

- All testing will take place using console controllers.

A cRPG Bonanza!

June 2nd saw the launch of The Bard’s Tale IV: the latest inXile Kickstarter campaign, which follows on from the immensely successful Wasteland 2 and Torment: Tides of Numenera. A cRPG dungeon crawler that promises dynamic combat, knotty puzzles and fiendish riddles, all set to a gorgeous Gaelic musical accompaniment? Yes please! It’s close to being funded, so why not head over to their Kickstarter page and see if they can tempt you to break open your piggy-banks? Please check Bard Tale IV in-engine video.

But it’s not just Bards and celtic tunes; we wouldn’t be Larian if we weren’t excited by the promise of broken worlds and apocalyptic creatures! Umbra is another isometric cRPG that’s caught our eye, promising fast-paced action, frantic magic, and hordes of enemies to vanquish. With an open world to explore, a crafting system that lets you create unique weapons, and a chance to turn your character into a highly customisable Apocalyptic avatar, we definitely think this is one to watch. You’d better hurry though, their Kickstarter campaign ends in just a few days!

The console version, will be released 27th October 2015. The date had been vaguely "October" before now. The Enhanced Edition is coming to PS4 and Xbox One as well as PC, where it will be free to owners of the original game.

New in the Enhanced Edition is split-screen co-op, chiefly, which is offered alongside online co-op.

In addition, the Enhanced Edition brings fully-voiced and remastered dialogues, new quests, new combat styles, changes to the crafting system and a reworked storyline. It all makes for a very enticing package, building on a superb old-school role-playing game originally released on PC last year.

If you haven't heard of it, Divinity: Original Sin is a turn-based RPG with a lovely, experimental combat core. Properties of different spells and abilities can be combined to wonderful or devastating effect, and as you always have a companion - the story is based around a pair of heroes (either controlled by you and the AI, or by a friend) - there's always opportunity to concoct. It's also a very rich, colourful and generous fantasy world. In short, if you're a fan of ye olden days RPG - and even if you're not - this is one worth playing. "Divinity: Original Sin is hands down the best classic-style RPG in years,"

Yes, cant wait for it myself, going to get a PS4 version too, play some co-op with my son.
Any idea if they will still have the original version once the enhanced comes out? It sounds like there will be quite a big change in all forms, even story. So I would like to experience that(collecting is also fun, too). Hmm I'm hoping for a sale before the enhanced comes out, too. Come on GoG! Sneak in a one day sale or something. Haha.
