I don't see any problem with this, it's a fun meta-game.

Yes, but having too many hobbies illicits such problems as: do I spend my payday check on my Steam Trading Cards collection, or my vintage porn collection?

But seriously, I like it. Since most Steam profiles are kinda bland, it's cool to be able to collect cards to enliven it a little. And it's not like you have to do anything, just play games. I dunno, it's fun for me :)

Well, if I started playing games to collect virtual cards and then spend time to trade them... I would rather find myself another hobby, because that would mean I'm not really enjoying games anymore :P But that's just me.
