A true RPG design achievement!

Divinity: Original Sin, the epic-scaled RPG from Larian Studios, very modern but also true to the best traditions of computer role playing games design with its isometric view, story-driven gameplay, and top-notch turn-based combat mechanics, is available for Windows and Mac OS X, DRM-Free on GOG.com! You can also enrich your experience with the Source Hunter DLC, that comes with two unique in-game items, a digital artbook, design documents and a full original soundtrack.

Divinity: Original Sin is the old-school role-playing title you've been dreaming about. If you were ever imagining how the legendary classics like Baldur's Gate would look and feel like, were they developed today, this is your answer! Larian Studios managed to make good on all of their promises of classic gameplay, extensive world, gripping storyline, and flexible system paired with high production value of contemporary double-A titles. With up to a hundred hours of playtime needed to beat the game with all of its branching stories and tons of optional quests the game can prove to be everything you want it to be, and more! It also takes what's best after the modern games: rich and vivid 3D graphics, an extensive item crafting system, and a finely balanced multi-player mode. A perfect mix of classic and new RPG design, if we ever saw one.

Set out to explore the fantastic colorful realm created by Larian Studios, and make a new home for yourself in the vibrant world of Divinity: Original Sin (or even grab some extra Source Hunter DLC gear), on GOG.com. The price of the game varies from region to region, but don't be alarmed! Following the GOG.com tradition we're offering a Fair Price Package with this title, so everyone who is adversely affected by the pricing plan will be compensated with gift-codes (you will find yours in your order confirmation email).

NOTE:
The version of the game offered here comes with the full single-player campaign, but currently supports only LAN/DirectIP multiplayer modes, with on-line multiplayer features coming as a later update, powered by GOG Galaxy, our DRM-Free online gaming platform. Thank you for your patience!

JudasIscariot: Errm that shouldn't be happening. Could you send us a Support ticket?
avatar
IanM: would there be any point? probably just a glitch from the game going from coming soon to available status, but I've raised tickets for far more serious issues like blank screen on checkout and all support say is browsers on linux aren't supported.

as for the regional pricing and dlc my objections are mostly directed at Larian - they had great crowdfunding and should've priced fairly, they didn't so I'm not sure I could even enjoy the game now
I think the whole reason for the region pricing is the physical versions of the game.
They cant undercut the retail publisher , if they do its a breach of contract.
Im not sure but i dont think its larian themself that are seliing out the physical copys.

Getcomposted: The grand reveal, as the cripple shambles away from the police station, his posture straightens, his limp disappears, his stride lengthens... Brilliant!
avatar
HypersomniacLive: The first time I watched the film, the grand reveal caused my jaw to drop to the floor and stay there long after the end credits. ;-)
I have lost count of how many times I've watched the film, yet every time I feel the same excitement I did the first time I did, it's that damn brilliant! :-)

avatar
Tarnicus: That one went above my head, and even the translation of "the killing bus" has me trying to weave connective threads that might not have been meant lol
I was going to quote the movie and found out the origin of that quote which I find fascinating :)
avatar
HypersomniacLive: Surprised you didn't know it, it's even mentioned in the film's trivia on IMDb. ;-)
I'm more surprised that my girlfriend hasn't seen it!! (er I'm sleep-talking)
avatar
IAmSinistar: Sorry, I was being terribly oblique. Der Tötenbus is my pet name for that theoretical bus that could kill any of us tomorrow. The ad you shared invoked its menacing present as an excuse to have a fag. And I was merely adding that it is often invoked to excuse any number of our excesses. :)
Thanks for the clarification :)

I don't care what the precise details are, they had the power to say no to these boxed copy retail contracts, they made the choice to rip off price the dlc. No amount of defending by fanboys and apologists is going to change my opinion, the regional pricing is either weakness or greed, the dlc at nearly $14-$15 is disgusting.

GOG are trying with the fair price codes, but it doesn't take the sour taste away, any goodwill and desire I felt to support Larian is gone.

I haven't followed all your posts in this thread, but is that what the price is showing in the UK (I assume it' 9.99 pounds?) Holy crap, I can see why you're pissed. Hell, I think 10 bucks US is overpriced for the DLC.
I am reading an interview with Larian on PC Gamer and it makes me want this game even more!!! The interview has some minor spoilers in it but they are marked.

This is just the link, no spoilers to see here until you read it :P

Im not a fanboy.
Just saying that coud be the reason.
Im totally against region pricing myself when it comes to digital content and find the whole idea of region prices just stupid and way to create artificial borders on the internet when there is none, unless its to make it cheaper for poor contrys but that rarly happens.

Em, can't say I follow - what's that even supposed to mean?

The game was well into development when they run their crowdfunding campaign, i.e. it's quite possible that agreements with retail publishers were already signed and we just didn't know it at the time.
This is not meant in defence of Larian, I was pretty upset when it came to light in that infamous "Good news!" thread.

OK, do you seriously want to sleep? Then you need to not only log out, but shut down that system of yours, unplug it, hide it in the closet and have one of your gorgeous cats to guard it. ;-)

This makes me think of my university days. A buddy and I came up with something similar that we referred to when we meant something that would never happen: the bus load of nymphomaniacs.

Thinking about it a bit now though, I figure if that bus load of nymphomaniacs did show up, it would likely turn out to be Der Tötenbus after all... :P

JudasIscariot:
Is there a way to get it so that I don't have to do two separate transactions for the game and its add-on? I'd much rather not double charge when it's not necessary.

Ha ha! You never know, it could also be the bus that carries contestants to the AVN awards ceremony. ;)

sorry that remark isn't meant to be directed at you specifically, it's broader frustration with a lot of other commentators across the internet
yay, Divinity!

yay, Larian!

yaay!

yaay!

Is this the same as another you posted where there was a "Get a room" tab? ;-)

£6.99, the exchange rate says exactly $12 just now which looks better than it did earlier today. Still a colossal rip off...

EDIT: did the dlc price get reduced to £6.99? was it £7.99 or £8.99 earlier?

EDIT: €9.99 is $13.60, which is what Europeans are being charged right now
