I downloaded the new Mac version, but I can't change the resolution from 640x480. It just drops to a black screen, and all of the sounds and music are still playing.

Any ideas?

I have to look into it, I need to check the latest wine engines which has the mac driver aboard. This might make life much easier for Macs with games for mouse movement/screen stuff . So this might fix it for this game as well.

Nice, thanks!

I did the Option-Click to launch with Wineskin options... changed to a fixed resolution window but still nothing. I think it's a color depth issue?

Now that we have an official release, we also have official support, which is the best part!

Well, the problem is, they are no winedevelopers, they rely on wine itself as much as I do ;) So that means that support ends just as fast as wine can be supported ;) Thats why they probably wait when they thourougly tested the game on their Mac before releasing it here, so I think this bug slipped through ;)

Right, but they have guys who are paid to do this stuff. That makes it a bit of a requirement that they do it.
Ok I fixed the problem, I am uploading the tweaked wrapper on the paulthetall way right now and make it available. here: http://paulthetall.opendrive.com/files/70475677_1Q8b0_1a7b/Total%20Annihilation%20Commander%20Pack.zip

Just copy the gog.com folder with the game files inside from the wrapper of GOG to mine, and (rightclick wrapper --> show package content --> c_drive --> program files)

GOG.com are my friends so they may use the wrapper if they want freely when they crediting my work ;)

Awesome, can I ask what changes you made?

I'm copying most of my "all-in-one TA CD" contents into that folder anyway :)
Well, the whole issue here is OPENGL, it is needed here, and the wrapper of GOG is set to GDI to avoid the glitches. The Mac driver fixes this glitches when being in opengl mode. However, Macdriver is still experimental and causes I see in the game the mouse being a little unsmooth. When using X11 this mouse bug is not there but then the glitch is back. So its choosing for the little mousebug and be able to play in 1920x1080 or 800x600 and smooth mouse in the original wrapper of GOG.com. Mouse bug will be fixed soon though. They are working hard on the Mac driver and I am beta testing for them. So I expect within a few months a smooth solution ;)

Great work DrPaulthetall!

I'd like to see if GOG team can confirm that the install binaries for this game can be re-packaged to address this?

Many thanks.

im not too sure what im doing wrong. i downloaded the link you posted but i dont know where to go from there. the "wrapper": no idea what that is. i copied the 1.1GB file i downloaded from GOG.com then pasted it into the file i downloaded that you provided. (by right clicking, showing package content, c-drive, program files) when i tried to click on the file you posted for download after pasting the 1.1GB file into it, map editor opened.
so at this point i wouldnt be able to tell you where to begin in helping me. maybe delete everything and redownload? lmao

hehe, almost good. Download the gog.com version rightclick wrapper/icon/app --> show package content --> c_drive --> program files and copy the game folder to the desktop. Then download my wrapper rightclick wrapper --> show package content --> c_drive --> program files and copy the content (the game folder) into my wrapper/icon and then launch the game by doubleclick the icon/wrapper/app to play.

I've set up your wrapper, but now I'm having the black screen problem as soon as the game launches... I can still hear the intro movie and main menu screen. Any idea why that might be? Is there something I need to do to set it up to run at 1280x800?

use this updated wrapper which also fixes the mouse cursor "jittery" + resolution black screen issue. In this wrapper you should install the windows game and set the start executable to TotalA.exe and then launch the game.

@GOG.com, use this wrapper for the game instead of yours. When people have to do all those extra steps (installing the game into the wrapper) to get it working only gives confusing. I give permission to use it on GOG. Everything works as far I can see now. Resolution change, mouse movement and tested multiplayer. Let me know when its done. Thanks.
