use this updated wrapper which also fixes the mouse cursor "jittery" + resolution black screen issue. In this wrapper you should install the windows game and set the start executable to TotalA.exe and then launch the game.

@GOG.com, use this wrapper for the game instead of yours. When people have to do all those extra steps (installing the game into the wrapper) to get it working only gives confusing. I give permission to use it on GOG. Everything works as far I can see now. Resolution change, mouse movement and tested multiplayer. Let me know when its done. Thanks.
That link is leading me to a "file not found" page :P Do I need to have an opendrive account?

Alright, I think I'm almost there. The wrapper won't launch, but am I supposed to do something with one of those game.prefs files? The ones in the macbook and iMac folders?

No, download wrapper (move wrapper/app/icon to desktop
- download the windows game version from gog.com
- doubleclick wrapper --> install windows software --> navigate to the setup file of the game you downloaded from gog
- go through the wizard (next next finish), at the end of install the installer may come up with an error but then just press cmd + q) Then set the start executable to TotalA.exe and from then on you can run the game using the doubleclick of the wrapper/icon/app.

I know, its some more work when needing video support check this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=-VEKFr6pQ-g

I did all of this and it's still not working, when I open the wrapper nothing happens... By the way, when you corrected the download link earlier today, you changed it to a wrapper that says it's for Supreme Commander, not Total Annihilation, did you mean to do that?

Sorry to keep hassling you, I know next to nothing about Wine. I really appreciate the help though!

Perfect! It works! Thanks so much paulthetall, I really hope GOG fixes their version to save people a lot of trouble...

No problem ;)
Hi Paul,

I read through the whole post but there is something not entirely clear to me. Do I have to disregard all the previous wrapper and just use the latter you linked with the Windows installer from GoG?

Also just in case you missed the download link on your website is currently broken.

Any help and indication will be very much appreciated, thanks.
Hi Paul,

still me here, I managed to make the game work quite well and in full screen at the desired resolution.
The only two issues remained are:

1. Playing in windowed mode at the desired resolution. It doesn't work despite the registry hack.
2. The mouse behaves terribly and it makes the playing experience quite unpleasant.

Any idea or suggestion will be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
_debo
DrPualthetall,

I have used your vision of the wrapper a few times, works great for awhile, but then the mouse issue comes back.

I have been installing the 3.9.* patch from TAUniverse

What I have noticed is that the screen rez box doesn't come to the front, and when that happens the mouse starts glitching.

I've even tried building my own Wine Wrapper, and it works fine, but then goes and does the same thing. any ideas?
I get the wrapper installed and it boots up just fine on my Mac, the only problem that I'm now having is the mouse is really jumpy and moves suddenly when I click. In a game where precision counts it is rather troubling.

The mouse doesn't jump when the wrapper isn't installed. This wrapper is necessary for me because of the mods that I would like to use require that i have a resolution of at least 800x600.

Can anyone help me with this, I just rediscovered this game and I really want to play it with all the old mods that I used to use.

Any information that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.
Please help. I have a 13-inch Macbook Pro with Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB graphics. The wrapper posted here works and I can get into the game but the problem is I get graphic glitch on the upper side of the screen. Around an inch on the top is glitch. Please help. I want to play this game in a higher resolution than 800x600.
Yeh, some help for this would be great. GOG please release a patch soon for this. Playing at this screen res is unpleasant
Using Pauls Wrapper, but when I select the GOG installer WineSkin comes up with "Wineskin Is currently busy Please Wait" and then just stays that way....... Noting at all.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
