Matutu: Using Pauls Wrapper, but when I select the GOG installer WineSkin comes up with "Wineskin Is currently busy Please Wait" and then just stays that way....... Noting at all.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
Don't run the installer. Download the Mac version from GOG, and drag the gog.com folder as he describes here: http://www.gog.com/forum/total_anihilation/mac_version/post8
Hi,

i had the same issue with the Mac version, the default GOG install only allows 640x480 res.

I tried the win version install through the wineskin as Paul the Tall mentioned, but I also got the Wineskin stuck on 'currently busy' issue.

I then did the copy the GOG install folder into the wrapper from Paul the Tall and run from there, this worked and I can run at the higher res's now, only issue is I get a screen flicker type graphics gitch. Any ideas on what I could do to resolve it?

Many thanks!
will GOG release a patch so we can change the resolution? i can only play at 640*480... and its horrible.

Has anyone managed to get this working?

I've got a 17" macbook pro 1920x1200 and can't get a full screen version to work at all.
Any ideas?
I'm an old TA cavedog and was excited to stumble onto this site. I immediately downloaded my favorites, Orion, Alpha Centauri and Oh Yah TA, however TA only plays at 640. I tried downloading some of the fixes here for Mac bu I just don't understand how o make them work. Please help.

Thanx
Dace
While I really appreciate the work that was put into this fix by Paul, I also really expect GOG to either include this in the download, or else post a big fat warning _before_ purchase, that this is a 640x480 game only. I was really disappointed, which is the first time here, as my previous experience with GOG releases has been all good.

And although the 'wrapper' in this thread fixes the resolution issue (and leaves my mouse behavior stable), I also get a major glitch or artifact at the top of my screen, which makes the top bar unreadable and obscures the radar screen. Couldn't make a screenshot.

Additionally, after the first use, running TA through this new wrapper now gets me into a black screen with just a (game) cursor and nothing else happens.

I'll look elsewhere, but this thread does not leave this problem "SOLVED".

I'm still having issues with this game. Not happy and can't find an easy way to contact GoG to get support.

I can get the game working via this new wrapper but I have to install it every time. Does anyone know how to create a fixed version that I can use all the time please?

Regards,
Simon

I'm having the same problem as rideoutz. As soon as I load a campaign mission or skirmish, the game crashes and Wine reports an error. Is this some new problem? I haven't seen anyone talking about it until a few days ago.
I've got the same problem too, I can load up the game but as soon as I get past the initial briefing page and it starts to load the level it crashes. Can anyone suggest a solution?

Thanks
I am having the same problem. I load the game, it starts up fine, set up a Skirmish and then... crash! every time. It says its a problem with Wine. I know absolutely nothing about Wine or how to troubleshoot.
Same here. For me, the graphics are wonky when the game loads, too. I keep checking in the hope that it's fixed, but for now, I'm just upset that my game is completely dysfunctional, especially since it seems to be a widespread problem.
GOG recently updated the Mac version, see the sticky thread.
